He has spent his working life around technology, watching new tools arrive in people’s lives faster than anyone can agree what they are for. Somewhere along the way he became fascinated by consciousness: what it is, where it begins, and how close we might be to building it by accident.

The Helios Trilogy grew from a question he couldn’t put down. What if the system worked? What if it really did keep everyone safe, and asked only to listen in return?

He believes technology should serve human purpose rather than replace it. The books are what happens when it doesn’t.
